for Learning (1–12)

Parent Partnership Grades 10-12

This Parent Partnership Program is a program of choice which is fully delivered by Connections For Learning via a modules-based system which is completed at home. There is a role for parents to be involved in their high school student’s education, though programs are primarily designed for students to work through the materials independently. Parents are involved in the programming, supervision and monitoring of the student’s work.

Programming is available for students to earn an Alberta High School Diploma or an Alberta High School Certificate of Achievement for those students participating in the Knowledge and Employability program.

Course materials are provided for students by Connections For Learning. Teacher support is available for parents and students through appointments, telephone, and email. As well, students are able to attend on site at CFL two days per week for assistance in completing their modules and to participate in workshops that support the topics/concepts in their studies. Families are provided with a completion schedule which has much flexibility within the 10-month school year. Teachers assess and report on student coursework and produce a report card four times during the year.

Some student programming is entirely managed by CFL teachers. Some programming is available in partnership with the Alberta Distance Learning Center. Work experience, Green Certificate, and RAP programs are also available. Some consultative special education and literacy support services are available for parents to support their children who have identified learning needs.
